Life is Confusing

Imagine you wake up to find yourself trapped in a moving box. You don't know who you are, where you are, or what is going on. When the box finally stops moving and opens you enter a whole different world called The Glade. Thomas in the book The Maze Runner, by James Dashner reveals to the reader that life can be confusing, but you just have to relax, breathe, and take the next step.

Thomas shows life can can be confusing because he had mix of emotions when he trapped in the box. For instance, on page one it states, "The lightless elevator swayed back and forth as it ascended, turing the boy's stomach sour with nausea; a smell like burnt oil invaded his senses, making him feel worse. He wanted to cry, but no tears came; he could only sit there, alone, waiting." This made me realize that there was nothing else Thomas to do but wait.

Thomas shows that to take the next step you have to relax and breathe because he decides he wants answers. In other words one page six it states, 'Where am I? Thomas asked, surprised at hearing his voice for the first time in his salvageable memory." This made me think Thomas is confused but curious. He is not like the rest of the Gladers.

In conclusion, by reading The Maze Runner you will learn that there might be problems in life and you might not know what to do next, but sometimes all you have to do is wait. Sometimes you have to get lost before you find yourself.
